You have me locating the 7z folder...found it. What do you want me to do with it? Is there a step missing?
After locating the 7z folder, you then have me going to the Cntrl Panel and unloading any other AiO programs.
(Be gentle with me...I'm operating with a near 60YO brain still using an 8088 and has been subjected to 19 doses of general anesthesia over the past 19 years, lol)
What was I to do with/in the 7zfolder?

When you did the reinstall, did the port for faxing have the "fax" at the end of it?
You shouldn't have to be connected by usb to fax from the computer.
Using a Mac G5 with OSX version 10.5.8 and a shared networked printer HP Photosmart C309 series a. Am able to print but not scan. I cannot use Image Uploader or Image Capture because my version of osx is too old. Also tried installing and running Scan Pro in the application folder for hp but it didnt work. Is there any other software or program I can use that will allow me to scan?
More info:
The network is a wired network.
The printer is connected via usb.

I really appreciate the help!! I did everything you listed in the exact order you listed it and the first time that I downloaded the new software it didn't install the printer and got hung up during the install process, so I shut down the computer and started over. The second time it successfully installed the drivers and the printer but completely froze up my computer, I had to do a hard shutdown to get the laptop to owrk again.
Unfortunately now the printer won't print or scan and it locks up my laptop within minutes of turning it on?? It's actually gotten worse now....lol!!! I'm beginning to think that I got a bad printer?? I don't know what to do now cause at least it would print before, even though it would lock up my laptop if it had it turned on more than about 3 mins!!
Can you think of something else to try?? Thanks again for all your help!!!

That is rather troublesome, but those kinds of issues should not be created by the printer software. they are likely a result of the software (possibly) interacting with your OS or other software running in the background of your computer.
Alright, I want you to remove the software from that user account like we did before. Then I want you to make an alternate user account and set it up as you normally would (give it admin permissions and such). Then install the printer on that clean account and see how it responds to you.
Do that and get back to me and I will respond as quickly as I can!

Oh, dear! I'm afraid my brain has become fried in trying to deal with this problem. Please excuse my ignorance, but I must ask you to break down the steps you just enumated even further. I can disable BitDefender, but don't know how to find the HP folder to try the installation again. There are a few HP files in each folder on a couple of places in my computer, but nothing looks like the AO_CDB... one that I've downloaded at least once already. Can you point me to where I might find where that file got placed?

Bella, sounds like you are having an issue with the proportions on your scans. Now, are you able to zoom in on the image? The images are proportioned based on your screen resolution, but if you open them in a photo-viewing software you should be able to zoom in on the image. Are you able to do this?

Yes the Fax was connected to the Fax port and the printer to the non labeled port, printing is working fine,
All of the sudden, when I try to send faxes, it will feed 4-5 pages, then abort and communicate a Error 441*, or communication error. This never did it before. Don't believe any settings have changed, and it does not seem to matter what fax number I send to. Any ideas?

Actually what I do now is open Preferences, open the scanner window and the first thing I have to do (which is the frustrating thing) is to change the Scan To field from Preview to Adobe Acrobat Professional.
I do scan directly into Adobe once that change is made but I have to change it every time I open the window. There should be a simple way to change the destination default to Adobe rather than changing it every time I use it. This is what I'm trying to find.

When I scan something on my Officejet 7410 All in One, and I open it once it has been saved on the computer, a bunch of letters and numbers appear on the document or pdf. They won't help me online because the printer is out of warrenty - has anyone else experienced this problem? Can anyone help me? See attached photo for example - the letters and numbers at the bottom shouldn't be there. Thanks!
Know of any FREE driver fixing software?
I've have done everything over and over again and still get the dreaded "NO SCAN OPTIONS" message on the panel when choosing the scan button.
A DriverBoost software ran and says I have multiple drivers needing fixed, and the HP6300 was among the list.
I DL'd and installed just the driver from HP for my 6310. Extracted it and when the install window opened it said I had a newer version already installed on my computer and to just plug in my device and my computer will recognize it. YEAH, RIGHT! Well, my computer recognizes the device, but the device doesn't recognize my computer. Would connecting it through the router (in stead of directly by using a USB) have better success, do you think?
Don't have the $ right now to purchase the fixes from DriverBoost, know of any free ones?
I just don't get it. When I use Window's Scan Wizard, it opens and recognizes my HP6310 and uses it to scan ....but when clicking the Scan button on the display panel of the 6310, it doesn't see the computer...and Solution Center doesn't open anymore either. There is some little something wrong somewhere. *sigh*
Any more suggestions?

It is okay. If you go to your Start button (Windows icon)>>All Programs>>HP>>PSC 1315 you should see an option to pick up the installation by adding a printer. If you do not see the PSC 1315 under the HP folder, it may not have ever installed properly. In which case, let me know before you go to the HP website to download the software and start all over again. Be sure to verify for me if your Windows Vista is 32 bit or 64 bit if this is so. I have a few more questions/tasks for you if the printer is not under All Programs>>HP or Hewlett-Packard.
