Hello there, I hope you can help me.

I have an HP DeskJet 3050AJ611a all in one printer.

I also have the disk with the driver software etc on it. This product is marked as being compatible with both Windows XP and Windows 7 operating systems. I do not use it wirelessly, but use a cable to connect the printer to a PC.

I have two PCs, one of which runs Windows XP professional and the other runs Windows 7. If I plug the printer into the PC that runs Windows 7, I get full functionality. However, if I plug it in to the PC that runs Windows XP, I can print but I can't scan. If I attempt to scan a message flashes up saying that there was a problem.

Can anybody please advise me as to what might be the problem?
