I understand you have a Laserjet 1536dnf and are getting asked for a password that you've forgotten. I will certainly do my best to help you with this!

The only password I can imagine you're being asked for is on the Embedded Web Server, so my instructions will be based on this assumption. If I am incorrect please get back to me with which password you're being asked for and we will go from there!

There is only one way to reset that password and that involves resetting the printer. I will send you the instructions for this reset in a private message. Once you've done the reset and the printer is set back up you will want to print a Configuration Report to retrieve the IP address. To print this page press the Setup button (looks like a wrench), go to Reports an then Configuration Report. Then you should be able to get into the Embedded Web Server without a password.
