Hello Bailhay,
To my understanding its a printer hardware issue and its time to get a new printer loaded with new technology, but you may try the below steps...
- While the printer ON, Open the cartridge access door.
- Remove the cartridges.
- Manually slide the carriage from Right to Left and then Left to Right.
- Close the Cartridge access door.
- Unplug the Power Cord from back of the printer while the printer is ON.
- Unplug the USB cable from back of the printer.
- Wait for 30 seconds.
- Plug in the power cord to the printer. The
- printer should Power ON automatically, else press the ON button to power it ON.
- Connect the USB Cable to the Printer.
- Now try making a COPY and check if there is any improvement in printing speed.
- Also try to print and check the speed.
If issue still persists, call HP Tech Support and check if you can get a Trade-In Option for a better model.
