Thanks for the additional help. I have checked the printer firmware and it is up to date. I also installed the eprint SW and it now works, but the scan problem continues on. Unfortunately, I cannot find my cable to try hardwiring the printer to the computer, but I'll keep looking for it. I'm not sure what else I can do, unless you may have some further words of wisdom. I appreciate you efforts, to date. Have a good one.
