I've been troubleshooting this for hours, solutions provided by HP do not fix the issue. I keep getting the following, twain scan, preview is loaded and gets stuck for no apparent reason, then after a couple of minutes, the error is displayed.
I have Windows 8.1 Pro 64 bit. I've been using this device with previous Windows versions without any issues whatsoever. I've been using Windows 8 without any issues whatsoever. This problem however is driving me mad. And apparently I'm not the only one... With no help from HP in sight, I'm just about to go looking for a non-HP replacement.
