Welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience!

 

I understand you are getting poor quality copies and when turning the printer on it prints a test page.

I will be happy to help you.

 

Make sure the printer is connected directly to a wall outlet. (don't use a power hub or a surge protector)

The printer requires more power when scanning and copying. This should also correct the test page printing at startup.

 

Here is a document for cleaning the glass.

Vertical Bands, Lines, or Streaks in Copies, Faxes, or Scans. Disregard the title.

 

Are you using Genuine HP Ink Cartridges.
