You would not be able to scan or copy 8.5 x 13 as the flat bed supports letter size.

Printing 8.5 x 13 should certainly work,

Both clips were found on the Product Specifications page

So that I can help you print 8.5 x 13, please post back with the answers to the following questions.

1. What program are you printing from, and have you tried an alternate program?
   
2. What operating system and version do you have on the computer? Is it a Mac or Windows?
   
3. What happens when you try to print 8.5x13? Do you get an error message, if so what does it say?
