As you are unable to press the copy button on the printer, and produce a photo copy, this sounds as though either the printer is out of date for the firmware, or the display panel is not functioning as it should. I would suggest following the steps in the document 'The Touchscreen Does Not Respond'. This will make sure that the printer is getting the right power, and has the most up to date version of the firmware.
