Seems I left off the Printer model. It is the Photosmart 6510 B211a. I looked at the two links you gave me but they did not fit the bill. I run Windows 7 on my TouchSmart 610. When I open my devices and printers menu I see my default printer, HP Photosmart 6510 series printer. When I click on that, I see 3 choices, see what's printing, set preferences, and customize your printer. I used to see something that had scan settings. This is where I selected scan to doc, picture, E-mail, etc., contrast settings, preview options, etc. Once a page was scanned, it asked if I wanted to scan another page. All that is gone. There is nothing in the Photosmart 6510 series menu of the printer on the PC about scanning.
I have used the HP Print & Scan Doctor and it gives me the message that the full software solution is not installed. I have uninstalled and installed the driver as I have said with no success. The printing function works fine. The printer itself scans fine. It is just the lack of scan control from the PC that is the problem. I hope this helps you figure out what is wrong.
