I read your post and feel I can answer your questions regarding the HP Officejet 4630e scanning software.
The scanning interface is not able to become full screen, the size of the window is the only size it can be. In order to view the image in it's original size, you need to save and open it. I tried to scan using the Windows fax and scan, it also would not allow the scan interface to enlarge.
Unfortunately the scanning interface that the Officejet 4500 uses is not supported for the 4630.
