I did the above steps. I did it on both computers reinstalling the software, etc.
It is still problematic but I'm now thinking it is more likely the machine (printer) itself -- why else would the same problems exist from both computers.
Just now I tried to fax but couldn't even get the LCD display to come alive. I tried the power switch (which was lit) but could not turn the printer off -- pressing or holding the power button did not result in anything. The only thing that worked was pulling the power cord at the back. The fax then worked fine after "rebooting" the printer.
Is there a way to do somthing with the firmware?
