Spencer, I did not follow those procedures on July 4th as if somethinng went wrong, there wold be noone
to contact due to the holiday.
Today, when i turned computer on, I got a black screen. Turned it off, trried again, and got nessage that windows failed to start due to a recent hardware of software change. The computer did a start-up repair to check system for
problems and fix them autontically. Then a message that no problem was detected, and
recommended restore to an earlier time. Then the start up repair began again, got a option to report the problem,
then a message that windows can not repair this problem automatically. Message said if recently added a device
such as camera or musical player, disconnect it, and re-start computer. if this message repeated,
contact administrator or manufacturer for assistance.
When I restarted the computer, windows worked, got to desktop, the internet etc. My Norton anti-virus
had a message that your computer has a fix in progress, then green light went on.
Then, when I turned computer off, updates were avaialable for my computer and so I insalled them - it was one. Then
it shut down.
I turned it back on again later, got to desktop, everything normal as usual.
Then I went to a word document, selected icon to print, and the option to send a fax through the
HPOfficeE709a series fax was now there, and it worked. I sent out two faxes that way.
So the problem is now resolved.
