Well, all of you fall in the same boat as I did. After firmware updated I lost this functionality as well. I worked for a major telecom and we've designed tons of software and firmware. In all time, the end-user was able to revert back to previous release. I also contacted HP support for this and I found out that HP is not allowing revert back. What a mess!!! I got a long experience with multiple hardware from multiple companies and all the time I was able to revert back. After several discussions with support, they called me back and told me that they could ship me a new printer and see if my problem disappeared. Upfront, I told them that i would be surprised if the new printer is functionning with previous firmware release. So, I received the new printer but it was set up with new firmware. What a waste of time and waste of money for HP knowing it would not fix my issue. I know that the previous firmware release is available somewhere in their library. They should have it as they installed it at first. IMHO HP realize that this functionality is available on much more expensive printer. It's unfortunately the way I see it. I used HP products for many years but with this situation, I'll no longer purchase anything from this company having no collaboration from their support team. A simple firmware file would do the job and would have make a lot of end-users satisfied.
