Hi MKazi,

 

Thank you for the response.

 

When I try to make a copy using the scanner glass bed, the screen shows "Starting Copying" message and gets stuck on that forever. I don't hear any sound in the printer at all. Hitting the X cancel button does not do anything.

When I tried to reboot the printer by pressing the power button off and then on, I got a weird screen. A blue screen showing the power symbol (i.e. circle with a vertical link in the middle) with the following code below it: 00759C98 and all the lights of the buttons on both sides of the screen are blinking. I tried to reboot the printer multiple times by pressing the power button. That didn't help. 

 

I disconnected the power cord from the back of the printer, waited for 60+ seconds, then reconnected the power cord back. When the printer rebooted, I got a message stating "Unable to scan, copy or send a fax". The title of that screen read "Scanner Failure"... Trying to copy again gave me the same screen.

 

Then, I followed the instructions listed below. I got the same error message "Scanner Failure" again. I didn't see the bulb illuminating.

The evidence points towards a hardware issue with your HP printer. The scanning hardware has failed (bulb is off). Hence you may contact our HP phone support team to check the available service options for your printer.

Photosmart C5180 All-in-One Windows 10 compatibility

I have a Photosmart C5180 All-in-One connected via USB to Windws 10 64 bit.

Scanning doesnot workl, although it did work in Windows 7.

 

Application Event log shows:  C:\Program Files (x86)\HP\Digital Imaging\bin\hpqkygrp.exe as a faulting application.

I have tried every combination of Compatibility, from Windows 8 down to Winfdows XP compatibility, but nothing works.

I have reinstalled the entire  application suite, but scanning does not work.

I have tried this on two different Windows 10 laptops, both present the same issue.

Printing works fine.

 

Has anyone managed to get the C5180 scanning funtion working under Windows 10?

I cannot find the software or driver to run the scanner on my HP LaserJet M1319f MFP. I bought the printer some years back but did not need the scanner until my regular scanner broke down. My printer is connected to my iMac (21.5 inch, Late 2015), macOS High Sierra Version 10.13.3. Where can I get this software?

Hi,

You cannot change the default, the HP Scan software defaults to PDF To File and show the shortuts on the printer per the shortcuts order shown on HP Scna by default.

 

For a network connection you may open your HP Software, under Scan click on Scan to Folder Wizard and create a network folder shortcut with JPG by default.

Hell there,

 

Thank you for your reply. I have done everything that you have suggested. I removed all printer softwear and reinstalled  using the web address that you gave me.

 

Still not happy. Never had these problems with a printer before.

The scanner has been quite simple to use and never had any problems.

 

Now it is scanning with a distinc slant to the words on the page. I have checked to make sure that the paper is  straight.

 

 I still cannot scan a simple word document that I can then edit if needed. 

 

Not happy with this printer's scanner.

Yes, my printing job stays in the queue after printing : that’s my problem. And it blocks my next printing job.

 

Manually deleting this print job doesn’t work : when I delete a printjob that has been printed, the job stays at “deleting-printing”. It only goes away after power off the printer. But this can’t be a good solution !

 

Like you wrote, I stopped the printer spooler but that didn’t work either.

Deleting the files in c:\windows\System32\spool\printers doesn’t help : he says I can’t delete the file.

I have exactly the same issue.

I scan the image and it crops perfectly just how I want it to. Then I click save and it scans again, despite the fact that I haven't changed any settings. Then the final saved image is not cropped, in fact the scan is completely useless as it hasn't picked up any of the detail on the paper.

 

I tried everything in your advice above and it hasn't helped. I wasn't expecting it to help as it doesn't feel like that sort of issue. It's more a settings issue in my opinion. Similarly to the person above I see no reason why there is a need to scan the image again when it's already scanned percectly.

 

Please help me asap!

I should add that I've just tried it at 300 dpi and it works fine. This error only seems to occur at 600 dpi or higher. In fact at 300 dpi or lower it doesn't even to the rescanning

Delayed Printing and Scanning

Hi

     I've been pulling my hair out all week with this printer, I'v had cause to change my router thats when the problems occurred.I'm running windows 7-64bit the printer deskjet 2540 series ,the driver on cd is not compatible with my laptop! i've tried uninstalling and re-installing, i've tried unpluging the router/laptop/and printer all to no avail. Ran print and doc all have green ticks,I resently found on a forum Deskjet 9800 will solve my problem it as to degree it scan to laptop and print but wont scan and print A4 sheet from scanner.

I had this problem when I purchased the printer some time a go I cant remember what driver used, I know it wasn't the one that came with CD.                                Please help before I it.

 

 

ps  It will print from mobile and Talet

I have an HP Envy 5640 all-in-one printer, which worked a treat when I first got it - printing and scanning with no problems. Since upgrading to Mac 10.12.6 a few months ago I have been unable to scan directly from the Mac and the print function is sporadic. I have uninstalled all the HP software, reinstalled all the necessary drivers including the little-known Apple driver for the printer which now at last allows the printer to operate normally. However the inability of the iMac to recognise the Envy as a scanner is still a problem and so the lack of scanning is still a major issue for me. I have tried using EasyStart on countless occasions (and have installed it over and over again) but I cannot get the Mac to recognise the scanner. The Firmware updater does not recognise the device and the Easy Scan app says No Scanner Selected in the drop-down menu and when I ask it to browse for scanners it does not find it. I have had to resort to scanning from the printer and emailing the scan back to myself - which is completely ridiculous.

 

“Select your printer name from the Scanner drop down menu.” It doesn’t appear!

 

Either I am missing something or HP simply aren't addressing the issues between their products and Macs.

Oh and within HP Utility, 'Scan Settings' just AIN'T THERE!!! With the Home symbol the options come up without Scan Settings listed anywhere and with the dot symbol it says "Unable to communicate with the selected device". It's completely ridiculous!!

That said, I recommend you delete the driver at the root level and retry, follow the steps below: 

 

1.) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features 

2.) Select your HP Printer 

3.) Select Uninstall 

4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers 

5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose `Delete' or `Remove Device' 

6.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo. 

7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between "printui.exe" and "/s") 

8.) Click on the "Drivers" tab 

9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom 

10.) Select Ok 

11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows 

12.) Close Devices and Printers

Scanning or copying in color works fine, Black and white scans and copies Does Not.

Black and white scans and copies are nearly completely obscured by black lines, while color copies are fine.  tried resetting printer, firmware up to date.

To sum up..printer did not work using glass top, ADF did not work...I tried all that was suggested to me.

One thing that was mentionned was that if ADF detected it will override glass top sooooo, I just lifted the ADF mechanism up from the machine and now the glass top printer works!  Thanks
