HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M479dw - problem

Hello,

 

I have HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M479dw.
It was just purchased and used for the first time.

 

When I scan from glass and use the scanner's display, the display turns blue and there is a symbol 'power' drawn, as well as text B80885AE.

I do the following:

I put a paper on the scanner's glass. On the display I set to scan on the computer, choose the computer, choose .pdf or .jpg and start scan. When the scan finishes, it asks if I wish to scan more pages. I choose 'no' (the scanning is finished) and than the blue display appears, together with the 'power' symbol and text B80885AE. After that the printer/ scanner (M479dw) blocks. Sometimes it resets on its own, sometimes I have to reset it. If it resets on its own, when M479dw is ready, the scanned document appears on the selected computer.

 

When I start scanning from the computer that M479dw is installed on (and *not* from display on M479dw), the scan works fine. When I scan with ADF and set from display of M479dw, it works fine.

 

How do I solve the problem?

Thank you for the suggestions.  I did as you suggested and set up my printer (again).  I then went to the printer software and went through the Scan to network folder wizard.  When I tried to test my connection, I got the error below.

I tried the power cycle and updating the software.  It checked for new updates but then said was up to date and nothing else happened.  I am now low on black ink so i'll have to pick this up another time.  I'll have to go out and get a lint free rag to be able to clean the rollers and such.  

 

Do I need to unscrew the four screws on the underside of the scanning bed to be able to clean those rollers?

Downloading drivers for my scanjet g4010

My scanner hasn't worked sense the last Win 10 update. When I used my original install CD, it said my OS was not supported. When I try to download and install new driver software, I get a pop-up window containing a large red X and the address of the file where the driver was downloaded to. When I click OK the install app closes. I tried to past a copy of the message, but that didn't work.  Thanks

My printer still prints but when I try to scan I get a message saying that the HP Envy Photo 7800 was not found. This is beyond frustrating. I did update the operating system a few months ago. I'm wondering if that's the problem.

Scanning stopped working after Windows 10 Update, but Printer works fine

Scanning suddenly stopped working after a Windows 10 Update (this occurred on multiple computers on my home network). This is a LaserJet Pro M127fn connected through hard-wired ethernet (not wifi). 

 

Receive the following error when using the HP Scan utility on every one of my Windows 10 PC's:

" Scanner communication cannot be established."

 

Steps taken already:

1. I have uninstalled and rebooted my PC; unplugged and replugged in my printer

2. Downloaded the latest drivers and installed them. Scanning does not work.

3. Ran HP Print and Scan Doctor 5.2.1 and it fails on the step "Windows (WIA) Scan" with the error "This tool is unable to solve the problem even after a restart. Go to HP Customer Care to get help resolving this issue."

4. Checked the Windows Image Acquistion in Services (Local) - it is "Running" and "Automatic"

5. Checked Windows update - all updates are installed

6. Checked Lenova update - all hardware drivers are installed.

7. Checked HP Support website for LaserJet Pro M127-128 drivers - latest is August 18, 2016 (installed); no firmware or other updates.

 

The printing software works fine so there is no connectivity issue across my home network and IP address is fine; able to copy and fax so there is nothing wrong with the hardware; however it will not scan.

Thanks for responding. That's an answer to a different issue, but helpful info nonetheless.

 

My original issue is meanwhile now answered: apparently it is by design not possible to exclude the "Outgoing Email Profile" from the address book listing that is displayed on the control screen of the printer.

Windows 10 buries HP Scan to HP folder under Menu structure but it normally put HP Printer Assistant on desktop. Please try to put HP Scan icon on Taskbar/Desktop

 

(a) Hit Win key,

(b) Locate HP Folder and then HP [printer]

(c) Right click HP Scan and select Pin to Taskbar

 

Now you can drag and drop HP Scan icon to Desktop.

hi sir  this printer is scan the file but  unable to add file in scanning option. when it scan a file it is automatically show option to save the file but doe's not show add another file.

After each fax transmission, an empty fax is sent to the same recipient and logged

Hardware configuration:
The telephone input of the printer is connected to the FON1 port of a 
Fritzbox 7490 with current firmware 07.12. 
Error description:
After each fax job, a second but empty fax is sent to the same recipient.
Both faxes receive their own transmission report!
This results in up to 3 additional printed pages.
Additional information:
Incoming fax function without problems.

Hi

Scanning with WIA Driver

You can scan an item from a WIA (Windows Image Acquisition)-compliant application.

 

It may be in the full software downloads from the website.

 

What Application are you using to scan with/into  EG:  Paint ??

Hi

 

Welcome to the HP Support Community. 

 

Please try these steps - 

 

1) Take out the cartridges.

2) Unplug the power cord from the printer & wall.

3) Wait for 30 seconds. 

4) Plug the power cord back into the printer and wall, ensure the printer is plugged into the wall & not to a surge protector.

5) Insert the cartridges back into the printer.

 

If the issue still persists, I'd suggest you Contact HP in your region regarding the service options for your printer.

Scan via E-Mail (HPM 227fdn) error

Hi! Model HP LaserJet Pro MFP M227fdn When I try to setup scan via E-Mail at -> Master of scanning e-mail I'm get error - "This printer does not support function scanning at electronic mail". When to buy I saw that MFP has this functional.
