Re: Faxing with a Voice-Over Internet Modem

, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Hp does not recommend using the VOIP line. Voice over internet protocol (VoIP) services is often not compatible with fax machines unless the provider explicitly states that it supports fax over IP services.

You may use it at your own discretion.

To know how to setup fax on the printer using an analog line, refer to this document.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

How do I scan 2-sided documents (and ultimately get the pages in the correct order in the PDF) using the automatic document feed on my OfficeJet Pro 6835?

, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

This looks like an issue with the scanner mechanism in the printer. Let us try these steps to resolve this issue:

Reset the printer

  1. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  2. Wait at least 60 seconds.
  3. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
  4. Turn ON the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
  5. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed.

Note: HP recommends connecting the printer directly to a wall outlet rather than a surge protector or a power strip.

Update the printer firmware

Click here to download and install the latest firmware from your MAC.

Check the scanner bar functionality

Perform a visual test of the scanner mechanism to see if it is jammed.

  1. Remove any original documents or photos from the scanner glass.
  2. Lift the scanner lid slightly, and then press the Copy button or icon.

If the scanner light does not move or moves halfway or is not lit, the scanner mechanism is likely jammed/broken.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

I bought a new HP printer, and had lots of files stored in my HP Smart files on my iMac. I wanted to start my free trial of Instant Ink, but the HP Smart app just kept freezing. I deleted the app and reinstalled it, but now all my files have disappeared. Some were very important to me. How can I get them back, please??

How can I scan from my HP Officejet 3833 from my HP desktop vs at the printer?

I just replaced my old HP Envy with this new Model 17....   I don't know how to make a shortcut for scanning documents with my HP Officejet 3833 printer.   I don't like scanning from the printer.  I need a bigger screen with options for editing scanned documents.

HP websites error out when I ask for help there.

I am not sure if the issue can be resolved by resetting the printer.

The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may brick the device.

I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset, and re-initialize the printer.

In order to access your private messages, click the private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Forums profile, next to your profile Name or simply click on this link.

Hope this helps!

MacOS 10.15 Catalina

Is the EULA

SmartScan dose not support Automated duplex scanning.

EasyScan is incompatible with MacOS 10.15 Catalina.

HP needs to do more to support the MacOS Community.

Hi,

Thanks for using the HP Support Community.

First you need to connect your printer to the Wireless network. (ignore this step if it's already connected)

1. From the front panel, scroll and tap on "Setup"

2. Under Setup,  scroll until Network Setup

3. If Wireless is "Off", Turn it "On"

4. Tap on Wireless Setup Wizard

5. Follow the instructions to get the printer connected to the wireless network

This will be a good reference (slightly different but will give you an idea what to do)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xEU4K3pNz4U

Next, in order to scan you can download the HP Smart app from the Windows store.

1. From your desktop, Open Windows Store

2. Do a search for HP Smart app

3. Download and install the HP Smart app

Then you will be able to print and scan using the HP Smart app.

Again,  this resource will be a good reference:

Hope that helps!

Here's what I suggest you do:

  1. Restart the devices,
  2. make sure the printer and the device with HP Smart app has stable connectivity
  3. disable and enable mobile fax on hp smart

lastly, try removing n adding hp smart and let me know if that works.

@Ducky42m, Welcome to HP Support Community!

To be able to assist you better, I'd like to know the following-

Is there any error message when you try to make photocopies?

Does the scanner bar move when you hit the copy/scan button on the printer?

Is there light on the scanner when you try to copy?

Meanwhile, power reset the printer-

  1. Turn the printer on, if it is not already on.
  2. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
  3. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  4. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  5. Wait at least 60 seconds.
  6. Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
  7. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
  8. Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
  9. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed.

Try copying.

Keep me posted for further assistance.

Re: 2 sided scanning

Note: Please ensure the complete product name/number for a quicker response from the community, as we need to know what we are dealing with to provide an accurate solution: Click here for steps on finding the information we need!

Remember: Do not share any of your personal information such as serial, phone number, email ID, etc.

Currently, the app does not support duplex scanning. It was designed to support a variety of scanners/printer. This somewhat limits the options available and the 2-sided scanning is not supported.

Though you can't automatically duplex scan via HP Smart App, you can setup "Scan to Email" for your printer and send to an email configured on your iOS device. You should be able to select Two-Sided scanning from the printer screen once scanning to an email is configured.

there is no reset for EWS password on these units and I'm afraid this could be a hardware malfunction, that said, I suggest you talk to HP support and discuss your options, follow the below steps to get started:

1) Click on this link - http://www.hp.com/contacthp/

2) Click on Sign-in or select the product using the below step:

3) Enter the serial of your device.

4) Select the country from the drop-down.

5) Click on "Show Options".

Fill the web-form, to populate a case number and phone number for yourself!

Also, if you are having trouble navigating through the above options, it's most likely because the device is out of warranty, if yes? please send me a private message with the region you are contacting us from,

here's how private messages work: Click here for details.

HP8025 Easy Start doesn't install scan or fax features; doesn't display scan or fax menu on computer

1) HP 8025 Easy Start loaded on computer and installed to unit. Only print function works from computer. Scan and fax did  not load. I deleted Easy Start then reloaded and reinstalled per forum suggestion -- didn't work. I tried both Ethernet and wireless - scan and fax didn't load on the computer. i am not going to use the touch screen for scan and fax .

(1) How do I get scan and fax capability?

(2) How do I get full print-scan-fax menu on the computer and fully functional from the computer?

Background: My HP 6700 All-in-One (reaching obsolescence); has computer screen control for print-scan-fax functions, settings, fax  history, menu, etc.. I don't need to use the 6700's touch screen. (E.g., I set-up wireless on the 6700 from my computer; for the 8025, I needed to use the touchscreen.) Looking for same ease of use of the 8025 from my computer for all functions.
