Thanks for using the HP Forums.

Please Uninstall and Reinstall the FULL feature software following these steps:

1. Uninstall the software in your computer
2. Download and save the FULL feature software (do not install it online)

 

The following resource will help you :

http://123.hp.com/us/en/

Key in your printer model, Operating System and download & install the FULL feature software.


3. Install the FULL feature “Saved” software

Once you have downloaded and installed the FULL feature software, you will be able to print and scan.

OK fair enough, but as I deal with graphics it is a pain to change .pdf all the time, no big deal but it would be nice for me to choose and not the printer.

As it is an Imac with Sierra operating system, the software you propose is not woking for OS of the Imac.

I used HP Officejet Pro 8610's HP Printer Assistant to click "Fax Setup Wizard"  a couple of times, and still,  missing is in the list of Printers that should show "HP Officejet Pro 8610 FAX (Network).  I want to send the fax from the computer to HP printer to be faxed.  Also, I uninstalled HP printer app and reinstalled.  Still same issue.    I cannot use the Window Fax because I do not have the phone modem.  My printer has the phone cable hooked to the cable modem.  Fax works on the printer, but not from the computer!!!

Do not worry I would be happy to help you with your HP Photosmart C4780 All-in-One Printer.

 

I understand that you are having scanner issue with your printer.

 

We need to first identify whether the issue is hardware or is it a software issue.

 

I also would like to know what happens when you make a color copy using the printer?

 

If you have not sure please make a color copy. Click on the link to know how to make a color copy.

 

If the color copy comes out fine please check the scan setting.

 

HP Easy Scan (Mac OS 10.9 and later)

 

Load the item on the scanner glass, in the document feeder slot, or in the automatic document feeder (ADF), depending on your printer type and features.

Search the Mac for a scan, then click HP Easy Scan in the list of results.

In HP Easy Scan, select your printer name from the Scanner drop-down menu.

Select your scan type from the Presets menu.

To change any basic settings to the preset you selected, such as scan color, orientation, or quality, click Edit Settings.

Click Scan.

Click Scan Next Item to add additional pages, or click Done.

Click the thumbnail version of the scanned item in the left panel. The item displays in the right preview pane.

Click Edit to adjust colors, straighten the scan, or crop the size.

To save your scans to a folder on the Mac, click Send in the bottom right corner of the window, then click Folder.

In the window that displays, click the Where menu to browse to the folder you want to save the file to, then click Save.

To view your scan, open the folder in which you saved the scan, then double-click the file.

I see from the post that you are having issues scanning and copying on your HP Envy 120 printer. Don't worry as I have a few suggestions which should help you resolve this issue.

 

To provide you with an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details:

Does that Scanner bulb light up?

Does the scanner bar move when you open the lid & press the copy button?

Have you checked if the unit can make a standalone copy? If ‘YES’ then it means the scan hardware of the Envy 120 works fine.

 

To assist you further, I need to know whether the printer can make a photocopy or not. Place a document face down on the scanner glass and press the copy option on the printer control panel. Let me know if it makes a good copy or not.

 

If this is to do with the Horizontal streaks, then this could be an issue with the drivers or with the cartridge itself, I would suggest you clean the cartridge contacts.

If the issue is to do with Vertical streaks, then this could be an issue with the Hardware, I would suggest you try to clean the rollers as well as scanner glass.

Scan multiple pages into one document

I want to scan multiple pages to one pdf file, thereby making one document.   I have never tried this before, but I know it can be done.  A previous question/answer isn't solving my problem, and I'm not sure it solved the problem of that person, either.  The HP rep suggested that there was a setting when you choose pdf that will allow a continuous document, but I can' find such a setting.  My printer is quite advanced, so I'd be surprised if it won't accommodate this.

Hi,

Download the HP Universal Fax driver to your desktop:

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software13/COL60874/ds-146586-1/HPUFDDriver.zip

 

Right click the file and select Extract All..., then follow the wizard to extract the files.

Open the extracted folder, right click on Setup.exe and select Run as Administrator, then follow the steps to complete the installation.

 

Now print to the added HP Universal Fax Driver printer, within the shown window click on Search for network printers and select your printer.

Be sure to check the box to Add this printer to my printers and faxes folder and press Fax, a new Fax - HP Officejet Pro 8610 print queue will be added.

I am using the HP Print and Scan Doctor 5.0 to troubleshoot a problem with scanning.  It keeps stopping at the step "Windows WIA Scan".  What can I do to correct this?

Yes, assuming you are using HP Scan and set to 300 dpi...

 

Make sure Separate file for each scanned page is unchecked.

The + symbol is just a sign for an international number.  You don't use it to fax.

Are you using HP Scan?  Make sure you are at 300 dpi and make sure Separate file for each scanned page is unchecked.
