Re: Unwanted file description printed prior to each commanded print job.

Hi ,

Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! A great place where you can find solutions for your issues with help from the community! I came across your post and wanted to assist you. I see that your HP OfficeJet 4650 always print unwanted file each time. Don't worry as I have a few suggestions which should help you resolve this issue.

  1. What is the  page which is printed? Is it something like an alignment or a printer test page?
  2. Disconnect the printer from the PC and then check if the printer still prints the test page. This will tell us if the test page is initiated from the PC or from the printer. Hence, if connected by USB cable, unplug the cable and if connected by the wireless, turn off the router and then turn on the printer and check.

While waiting for your reply, I would also like to clear the print spooler of the PC. If the test page is initiated from the PC, this will help us fixing the issue.

Try to fix this issue using HP Print and Scan Doctor (PSDR). PSDR is an automated tool which can diagnose and resolve printing and scanning problems. Please go to http://hp.care/2bZ9w2q to download and run HP PSDR. Once you open the program, select your printer and click on “Fix Printing” to automatically diagnose and fix the issue.

Please let me know if this resolves the issue, or if you require further assistance!

Feel free to post your query for any other assistance as well,

It's been a pleasure interacting with you and I hope you have a good day ahead.

Re: HP Photosmart D110 makes a loud clicking noise when I start it up or just before I print

Let me take a moment to thank you for posting on the HP Support Forums.

I understand that you have an HP Photosmart e-All-in-One Printer - D110a. I read that the printer makes a loud clicking noise when you power it up and also before it starts to print. Not to worry, I'll do my best to help you.

To provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

  • Does the printer print and copy fine otherwise?
  • Did any hardware changes take place on the printer (like cartridge replacement, paper jam, etc.)?
  • What operating system are you using and what is the version of the operating system?

Meanwhile, I recommend you to perform the following steps to isolate the issue and arrive at a fix:

  • Disconnect the power cable from the printer while the printer is still ON.
  • Disconnect any other cables if connected the printer.
  • Press and hold the printer’s power button for 15 seconds.
  • The printer should be directly connected to the wall outlet and not to a surge protector.
  • Reconnect the power cable to print and the printer should power ON by itself. If the printer doesn’t power ON then please manually power it ON.

Please restart the printer or try to print something and check the performance. If the issue persists then remove the ink cartridges and reinsert the back into the printer.

You may check for an available firmware update via this HP link: www.123.hp.com. If the printer continues to make the loud noise then I suggest you to reset the printer. I have sent you a private message with the steps to reset the printer.

I sincerely hope this fixes the issue. Let me know how it goes. Cheers! Smiley Happy

Normally as its name says, we can use this for copy id cards such as student ID, driver license ... This function allows us to copy both sides of a card on one sheet.

The way it does: it copies the first side and ask us to turn up-side-down the card and it can continue to copy the second side (note: we have to hit continue).

Regards.

The scanner is current (I can not even select it for update, but states "current"),

the other links did not help either.

One of the laptops is brand new and has all the updates ... and same problem ...

so, I still have 2 HP laptops, one HP scanner/printer and can not scan :-(

Hi ,

Thank you for your reply, I'll be more than glad to help you.

I understand that the issue has not resolved after following the steps mentioned in the previous interaction.

I suggest that you make a copy from the unit only and check if it the same issue.

You may check the link: Copying Documents or Photos

If yes, then I suggest that you contact HP Phone Support for further assistance at the link: www.hp.com/contacthp

New error: 8710 printer/scanner suddenly crops all scans, how to restore full page scans?

I'm trying to scan both documents and book pages on my OfficeJet Pro 8710, running Windows 10 (64), printer running on wifi. The scan function was working fine a few days ago. Nothing material has changed since then, hardware or software. Now when I try to scan, the program chops off an inch all around each page. I have not made any changes in the default scan parameters. I can't find anywhere in the scanner menu to help me with this, and all the scan doctor advises is to reinstall the software. Surely that's not the only solution?

HP does not support XP, it is like a dead language  Smiley Sad -- your printer software supports XP (32 bit).

Printer:

There is Full Feature Software and other Updates available.

Printer Homepage

Drivers, Software and Videos, How-to, Troubleshooting, Manuals, Product Information, and more:

HP Officejet 4630 e-All-in-One Printer series

How much of the documentation is useful to XP is not something I can answer.

From the many documents in Troubleshooting:

Printer is Offline (Windows)

If you have not done so, download and save:

Good Luck!

Hi,

Thanks for using the HP Forums.

Not sure about Veriron and AOL but for Gmail, you need to set certain settings.

This resource will show you how it's done:

Scan to Email

(Different printer but the steps are the same, take note of the settings for Gmail))

Hope that helps!

Hi,

Within HP Scan be sure to set a specific Paper Size for the scan job, do not select Auto Detect.

Ensure the scan type is set as Document and not Photo.

I would also suggest selecting the Save as PDF scan shortcut and not as JPG.

Hope that helps,

Shlomi

I am receiving the message "Unable to connect to Web Services" when trying to scan to email. I have done this hundreds of times and it suddenly stopped working! I can still print wirelessly, no problem. I've checked the wireless connection, made sure I don't need an update.... Any suggestions?

Trying to scan from printer to computer.   ( The printer is printing fine and is online)  I get the same message: "Scan to computer not available"  I have been scanning in the past.  I have a HP Officejet Pro 8600 (Wireless).  Pressing 'Scan' results in - nothing.

Can anyone help?  The "HP Printer and Scan Doctor does not address this aet all.

Double Sided Scanning M426fdn

I Need to use the double sided scanning function of this printer but can't seem to find any option that allows me to double sided scan?

The LCD Screen doesnt seem to have a double sided scan option (I had heard about that) but from other users I have heard double sided scan from the computer via app should work? Is there a specific app I need to use for that - if so which one or what needs to be actvated for the double sided scanning function to appear in the 'HP Scan' App?

I have already successfully actvated double sided printing and copying so it must be poosible with this printer.

No Scan Options

When I try to scan a document, I get an error message that says " No scan options. Refer to device documentation." How do I fix this problem? Thanks.

Scanning creates ugly borders around my 8.5x11 images.

The Photosmart printer's glass surface can fit either A4 or 8.5"x11" paper. When it scans, it allows for the largest possible dimensions (8.5" x 11.69"). So my scans have border at the bottom, and when I reprint the scan on 8.5x11 paper, it shrinks the image a few percent to fit what was originally 11.69" long on an 11'' sheet.

I don't want the scan to include that last 0.69".  I can't find relevant controls for this in the HP Solutions Center software.

I prefer  a 100% (unscaled) scan of just the 8.5"x11" original. Is there an easy way to get this?  Thanks

My HP7640 will not copy or print.Reinstalled printer, no results. Installed updates, no results.
