Hi,

A such can be done from the HP Scan software, should be located under Start > All Apps > HP.

From the HP Scan software you may set two sided scanning.

 

If you fail to find such an option you may install HP Scan Extended:

 

Select Save as PDF and press the More > option.

Set Scan Sides as Booklet and press OK.

Now press Scan to complete te scan job, you may press the disk icon near the shortcut title to save the settings as defaults.

I followed the advice of  "MKazi"  deleted thew drivers and removed my printer from the computer.  I need to know the link to reinstall the printer and drivers.

Hi, I have a HP Deskjet 2540 all in one, it's can print but when i scan it's search for a while then it's desplay an error saying; communication cannot be established with the scanner. make sure the divece is on. It's connected by wireless and i can print wirelessly. i remeved the software and re-insalled again but the issue is still the same. Please assist me how i can resolve this problem.

Recently my OfficeJet Pro 8600 stopped being able to scan double-sided through the ADF. This feature was the reason I bought this printer over the opposition, and I'm flabbergasted that HP have killed the functionality with no regard to their customers.

 

I have:

- Used HP Scan and Print Doctor. It says there is a driver update, I've downloaded and installed the driver, shutdown/restarted. Same issue. I have tried this several times over several weeks. No joy.

- Uninstalled printer and reinstalled it. No joy.

- (By coincidence, my hard drive died, replaced hard drive, restored files, reinstalled printer.) No joy

- Searched for a scanning app that will scan double-sded from ADF- no joy

- Installed HP's new app, HP Smart - no joy

- Reviewed the forums, and found I'm not the only person with this problem. I only did a quick search, no doubt there are many more. However I draw your attention to:

 - In this thread, the user has exactly the same issue I have, and the answer (which apparently has solved the question) ignores the point that the user is trying to make, which is that there is no option to select double-sided.

- The answer given is to use HP Easy Scan app, click the presets menu, select Edit Settings, set source to ADF and check the box next to this to Scan Both Sides.... THERE IS NO BOX TO SCAN BOTH SIDES, and the user has pointed this out, yet still this issue is solved...???

 - In this thread, the helpful reply says, "Have you installed the FULL feature software?

 - When I tried this from HP Smart app, it takes me to an ENDLESS LOOP

     * Enter printer details - fine

     * Goes to Printer Install Wizard - asks me to connect the printer via USB or select tick box if the printer is already configured on my network (which it is and I can print to it fine)

     * Click next - discovers the printer

     * Click printer, and click next - goes back to Printer Install Wizard... Endless loop.

 - Therefore unable to install Full feature software

 - Then to top it all off, HP nicely asks me if I'd like to give feedback, and I would, but the link doesn't work

 

Looking forward to finding out when HP will return the functionality I had.

HP Officejet 2620 - Auto answer not working

Even I have made the setting default and setup again properply accourding to the instruction, Auto answer does not work. I have to manually answer every time fax is coming.

How can solve this problem?

HP OfficeJet Pro 8710 Scan to Email errors and problems

Howdy folks.

 

I have exhausted all available options to me, so let me make as short as possbile introduction to my problem.

 

Few years ago, we have obtained HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 Plus. It has Scan to Email function and it works flawlessly from day one (wired LAN connection, DHCP reservation IP address, if important). Based on that, we went up and obtained HP OfficeJet Pro X476dw with same Scan to Email function and it also works flawlessly from day one under same settings (wired LAN connection, DHCP reservation IP address, if important).

 

Then a few months ago, 8600 is no longer available, X series machines are way to much for this user, and we've obtained HP OfficeJet Pro 8710, which also has Scan to Email function. And that's where the problems start.

 

After connecting it to my LAN, performing identical networking and e-mail setup as 8600 and X476 (minus the e-mail address, it's different, but on the same, our, e-mail server), I cannot make that function (scan to email) work.

 

Here's what I've already tried, chronologically:

 

FIRST UNIT

1. Bought, set up, updated firmware.

2. E-mail server settings:

     - valid e-mail address in E-mail Address field

     - SMTP server: mail.domain.com (our e-mail server)

     - SMTP port: 25

     - Email Log-in Authentication: valid UserID and password

3. Save and Test returns: The device could not send the test email message. (emailServerSettingPage-ErrorSecureConnectFailed)

4. Changed SMTP port to 587

5. Save and Test returns: The device could not send the test email message. (emailServerSettingPage-ErrorSecureConnectFailed)

6. Changed three working e-mail addresses and passwords in UserID and Password fields

7. Save and Test returns: The device could not send the test email message. (emailServerSettingPage-ErrorSecureConnectFailed)

8. Contacted local authorised HP service provider, sent device to service, problem found, got new exchange device

 

SECOND UNIT

1. Received from service, set up, updated firmware.

2. E-mail server settings:

     - valid e-mail address in E-mail Address field

     - SMTP server: mail.domain.com (our e-mail server)

     - SMTP port: 25

     - Email Log-in Authentication: valid UserID and password

3. Save and Test returns: The device could not send the test email message. (emailServerSettingPage-ErrorSecureConnectFailed)

4. Changed SMTP port to 587

5. Save and Test returns: The device could not send the test email message. (emailServerSettingPage-ErrorSecureConnectFailed)

6. Checked Always use secure connection (SSL/TLS)

7. Save and Test returns: The device could not send the test email message. (emailServerSettingPage-ErrorSecureConnectFailed)

8. Changed SMTP port to 465, checked Always use secure connection (SSL/TLS)

9. Save and Test returns: The printer is unable to connect to the remote destination. Check your configurations and try again.

10. Changed SMTP port back to 25, checked Always use secure connection (SSL/TLS)

11. Save and Test returns: The device could not send the test email message. (emailServerSettingPage-ErrorSecureConnectFailed)

12. Changed three working e-mail addresses and passwords in UserID and Password fields

13. Save and Test returns: The device could not send the test email message. (emailServerSettingPage-ErrorSecureConnectFailed)

14. Changed SMTP server to another address and IP address of the server and repeated all ports w/ and w/o checked Always use secure connection (SSL/TLS)

15. Save and Test returns: The device could not send the test email message. (emailServerSettingPage-ErrorSecureConnectFailed)

16. Changed SMTP server to smtp.gmail.com, SMTP port to 465, used UserID and Password of my personal gMail account

17. Scan to email works

18. Changed all back to my e-mail server settings, it doesn't work again

 

Other notes and configuration changes:

1. Changed IP address with IPv6 enabled and disabled - no difference

2. Changed IP addres from DHCP to Manual - no difference

3. Changed DNS to Manual and entered Google's DNS 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 - no difference

 

So, from what I've tried and errors received, there seems to be a problem in the firmware of the printer, because (from what I can tell) the error "emailServerSettingPage-ErrorSecureConnectFailed" is not bound to the value of checkbox "Always use secure connection (SSL/TLS)". It seems that the printer forces it to be checked, no matter of my setting - checked or unchecked.

 

Tried to explain it to local authorised service with no luck. It looks like the technicians there cannot understand the problem.

 

Any ideas, suggestions, anything else?

scan to PDF missing

I have an old deskjet F2290 attached to an old windows XP laptop. This used to print and scan fine. Last year I bought a newer HP deskjet 2130 and installed its HP software on top of the old printer, as recommended to me at the time

 

now I realize that the new HP solution centre installed doesn't work very well with the old printer. When I try to scan a document on the F2290, the only option that appears is "scan to TIFF" (or jpg), nothing with PDF.

 

How do I scan to PDF?

Scan to Network Folder (networked drive): Will not work, important info in tutorial glossed over

[this may be a very simple question, but after days going through all HP help articles I cannot find a solution]

 

I have a synology raid array and my goal is to set up a network folder that I can quickly and easily scan to the drive from my printer. 

Unfortunately, I cannot get the correct file path. No matter what I put in it says "network path invalid".

I even attempted to set up the SMB folder on my mac and then sync that to the drive, but every time it is the same issue of not being able to connect.

The instructions go into detail about setting up an SMB folder, but then do not say what the correct path or input should be. Nor what the possible paths could be.

 

Has anyone been able to set up a scan to network folder to a networked drive like synology?

If not, can anyone share: what the possible file path would look like?

- Would the user sign in be the user for the drive?

I had to load only a scanner program from Windows! And I found out that HP is supporting only Explorer browser. Now my printer is working!

 

But I have to say that I have never met so difficult case like to this to install HP printer. Instractions are only for old Windows even Windows XP and not at to Win 10. And there are very difficult words to understand in instructions what they are meaning. I used Edge browser and it was the reason I couldn install printer! HP support Explorer!

I could solve problem! HP programs support only Explorer browser not Edge and it needed to load also a scannner program from Windows.

I downloaded updated drivers. That solved the problem. The choice to scan multiple pages to one document doesn't appear until you actually scan a page, so that was a little confusing, but it all worked fine. The driver update has slowed my scanning speed considerably, unfortunately, at least in this instance. Perhaps a one page scan will be accomplished more quickly.

Thank you MKazi! I reset the printers and even re-installed the printer software.  I was unable to get the HP Scan Wizard  (which accesses both the Photosmart and also my HP 1022 Laser printer) to work...I was still getting black scans and the error message that I mentioned before.  When I used the Scanner window directly from the HP Photosmart printer, I was able to scan from there.   So, it is a different process from before but at least it now works.  Any sense why the HP Scan Wizard no longer works? Thank you for your assistance.

При попытке отправить факс абоненту другой организации, который настроен на автоматический приём факса через 11 входящих вызовов. Устройство HP m225rdn допускает максимально возможные исходящие вызовы в количестве 10 штук. После этого происходит окончание вызова и повтор дозвона. Как можно решить данную проблему, ведь из-за этого мы не может отправить факс данному абоненту. Если звонить с телефона, то ограничений по исходящим вызовам нет.

Hello, in our company issue with HP LJ m225rdn When you try to send a Fax to a subscriber of another organization, which is set to automatic Fax reception after 11 incoming calls. The HP m225rdn allow the maximum possible outgoing calls in a quantity of 10 pieces. This occurs after the end of the call, and repeat dial. Password change

Recently changed password with AOL.  Now printer will not allow me to scan document and send via email.  I get a messaqe that says my password is incorrect.  I've checked all settings I can find and cannot locate any area to see or change a password. 

I have no problem sending a fax and had no problem sending documents to emails until we made this change with AOL.

lost of the icon in the desktop

I Have lost the icon for my scanner machine in my desktop, reads is not enlisted.  When I ask to the operative system send me to call the Microsoft word and I do not want to use their help because of they harras, calling and hacker all my programs and system   I believe they were the ones who disconnected.  Is there any other way for me to install again?.
