From the Hewlett-Packard folder move the HP Scan application to the trash and empty the trash, then install the HP Easy Scan app and check for anyu difference:

Can you see any difference then?
If the same persists, what happens when you try scanning from Image Capture or Printers & Scanners on your Mac?
o ensure, I assume the printer is connected wirelessly?

L7580 - Direct Digital Filing not showing on web menu
Hello - I just got a HP Officejet Pro L7580 for a department in our clinic. I hard wired the printer into our network and got an IP address. This L7580 is NOT connected to the computer directly. It is setup for network printing and scanning. Since it is not connected directly to the computer (and can't be because it is too far away from the pc), I have not installed the software ont he computer.
When I open Internet Explorer and type in the IP address, the L7580 web page comes up. But under the Settings tab, then under Address Book, Digital Direct Filing is not there. And we want to use that option for scanning to a shared folder on our network.
Can someone tell me why that option is not available??
Any information woudl be greatly appreciated.

Line through scan
my brand new Officejet Pro 8620 all in one scans documents crookedly and with a line through them when fed through the document feeder. This is such a bummer. I'm not about to pack this thing up and send it back or pay to have it fixed so I'm just stuck with it I guess.
I feel like this line through document images could and should have been solved by now. It's been an issue since the first fax machines were invented in the ....what - late 80's?
Don't suppose there is anything I could do about either issue here at my desk huh ?

The HP Officejet Pro L7580 does not provide any direct digital filing capabilities, for that series only the L7680 or L7780 provide a such, not the L7580 model.

Scan directly to network folders – without a PC – using Direct Digital Filing (L7680/L7780 only)
To scan to your computer through the network you will need to install the HP software on your computer, as long as both the printer and the PC are connected to the same network you may install the software, those should not be directly connected to each other.
To install the software follow the tool below, it will locate the network connected printer and obtain its installer, follow the steps by selecting a network connection and you should be up and running:

I'm so happy to hear that it is working! 
It's possible that the cartridge that wasn't working was defective, take a look at the HP Genuine Cartridges Warranty.
If the cartridge is not past the end of warranty date that is stamped on it, and still has ink in it (you can check this by re-inserting it and checking your ink levels in your HP software), then you may be entitled to a replacement.
You can Contact HP Support for more information. Fill in the model number and the form to receive a case number for quicker assistance.

I understand that your HP Photosmart 6525 will not scan to PC on Windows 8.1. I am happy to look into this for you!
First, I would recommend to try our HP Print and Scan Doctor, to verify everything has been installed properly. If not, use our HP Printer Install Wizard for Windows, to download the full feature software and drivers. It is possible that only the basic driver was installed, and that could be why this particular feature is not working.
Let's start with this step, and see what happens!

Faxing with internet
I have my Officejet Pro 8600 Plus hooked up to our home phone for faxing. I'd like to get rid of the home phone. Is it possible to send and receive faxes on the 8600 online?

Thanks, RnRMan! In fact, I had just done exactly that and my problem appears to have been solved - I re-installed the printer and driver, and rebooted everything in sight - again! However, this time I seem to be lucky, although time will tell because I have found in the past that HP printers occasionally act a bit flakey, both in Windows and Mac.
I was always able to scan via Image Capture, Preview, and the HP Utility, but It has long irked me not to be able to use the control panel - it often worked on only one machine at a time, but now I finally have a choice. Anyway, all's well that ends well and I am not going to have to worry about it any longer. At least, not until the next time . . . . .

Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums! I understand you are not able to upload your scanned photos from your HP Printer to Ebay. A few questions for you:
1. What is the Exact model of HP Printer you are using?
2. What is your current Operating system, Windows or Mac and which version?
3. How is the printer connected, USB or Wireless?
4. Do you get any error message when you attempt to upload the photo?
5. What file type are you saving the scanned image as? (jpeg, tiff etc)
6. What is the current dpi set to? The better quality the scan the bigger the file. After taking a look on the Ebay Support site it states:
'Picture size is limited to a 4.0 megabyte (MB) file size.'

For further assistance, I will need to know the following:
- The Product/Model Number of your printer. Follow instructions in this link. Finding Your HP Product Model Number.
- If you are using a Windows or Mac Operating System, and the version number. To find the exact version, visit this link. Whatsmyos.
- If the printer is connected, Wireless, Ethernet, or USB.
- If the printer is able to make copies.
- If the power cable is plugged into a surge protector, or directly to the wall outlet. Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector. This applies to Inkjet printers as well.

can't connect to scanner
Hi, setup this network printer via the CD, prints great, what I can't get it to do is scan through the network. I can make copies directly on the printer, but I can't utilize the scan function from my computer to the printer.

I see that you are having issues with the fax, every day you receive a blank fax with a No Fax Detected message.
I would like to help you.
I have provided a few steps to try, to see if we can resolve this issue.
Make sure the printer is connected directly to a wall outlet. (don't use a power hub or a surge protector) This ensures the printer is receiving full power and may help this situation. Power cycle the printer.
Run this test for the fax.
From the Home screen, touch the wrench button.
Touch the service button.
Touch the Fax service button.
Touch run fax test.
You should get 4 passes.
Turn the private receive off:
Go setup/fax setup menu/advanced setup/private receive/turn it off.
Turn off the error correction:
Go setup/service /fax service/error correction/turn it off.
Change the fax speed to medium:
Go to setup/fax setup /advanced setup/fax speed/change it to medium.
Clear the saved faxes:
Go to setup/service menu/fax service/clear saved faxes/OK to clear.
If you are still having issues, then please follow the steps in this document.
Update the printer's firmware. HP LaserJet Pro Series Firmware Update Utility.

Thanks again for getting back to me regarding this issue. After researching this issue some more, and speaking with some of my colleagues about this issue we have come to the conclusion that it must be a capability issue within the Firmware of your printer.
At this time I can only offer the workaround of using the HP Solution Center Scan software to perform scans to your Windows 8.1 computer.
Please let me know if this workaround is sufficient. It has been a pleasure working with you!
