Hi,

That was the answer. You have to tell it the size of the original otherwise it will scan the whole glass area.

Regards.

If you are getting a "No answer" message, it just means the number you are faxing is not answering. Try faxing HP's fax test server. The number is 1-888-473-2963 U.S. only. If you get a fax message back, then everything is fine with your settings and setup.

If still it does not works try steps given in below document.

The answer to your question is yes & no.  Anything placed directly on the glass is fine, ..copies or scans, ..jpegs or pdfs.  *Only* when sheets are fed through the doc feeder do the lines appear and they appear in copies and scans alike.  As prevuiosly mentioned, doc feeder images also come out slightly crooked.

Thanks....

Lets make this real simple.  When you scan from the ADF the paper moves over the left side of the glass so it means you have a speck of dirt or other material on the glass only on the left side.  Open the scanner cover like you are placing an item on the glass and just match up the line and clean that area.  Sometimes you have to use your fingernail to sort of scrape the dirt or material off the glass.  As to the skewing of the paper, just make sure the guides in the feeder are fully against the left and right edges of the paper so there is no "play" of the paper in the feeder.  Hope this helps.

Hi ,

Welcome to the HP Forums!

I noticed that the adf tray jams every time after two to three pages even with brand new, unwrinkled paper. With your HP Officejet 4630/4635 printer. I am happy to look into this issue for you!

I would recommend to please take a look through this guide, An ADF Paper Jam Error Displays on the HP Officejet 4630 and HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 4640 e-All-in-One Printer Series. And, if this guide does not resolve the issue then the printer needs to be replaced/or serviced. Please contact HP, phone support for further assistance. Best of luck! :smileyhappy:

Re: RECEIVING FAXES AUTOMATICALLY

Hi everyone!

Welcome to the HP Forums!

I understand that you cannot receive faxes automatically with your HP Photosmart 7520, and HP Officejet 4620. I am happy to help!

What type of phone service are you using? Analog or Digital?

If Analog, please take a look at this guide, Setting up the HP All-in-One to Send and Receive Faxes.

If Digital, please see this guide, How to connect your HP Fax Device to an ISDN, ADSL, PBX, or VoIP line. HP fax devices are designed to work with traditional analog phone services. They are not designed to work with digital phone services such as ADSL, PBX, ISDN, or VoIP.

While HP fax products are not supported on these types of lines, they might work given appropriate setup and equipment.

Hope this information is helpful, and have a good day! :smileyhappy:

@davidzuts .....you nailed it dude.  Huge thank you.  After cleaning and "thumbnailing" a few lodged particles off the glass, the line is gone.  Likewise, a small narrowing of the guides on the feeder straightened up the image just fine.

Thanks again, ...really!  So glad I posetd here.

I would like you to continue troubleshooting here: An ADF Paper Jam Error Displays, although a different printer is listed, I would still like you to complete ALL steps listed, it may be dust or debris that is causing the sensor to think there is a jam.

Let me know the outcome, I will watch for your reply. If you are still getting the error message I  suggest contacting

our technical support at www.hp.com/contacthp/ as it may be the hardware.

Hey @kgarry,

I understand that you are asking about faxing without a phone line from your Officejet Pro 8600. It is possible to fax without a phone line through a paid service called eFax. You can visit their webpage for more information.

If you are looking at a free service that allows you to receive documents then you can setup a feature called ePrint.  This allows people to email documents to your printer's own email address. Any emails that are sent to the printer will print out automatically. You can visit this page for information about ePrint.

If you have any other questions about ePrint or would like some assistance with the service then please post any questions here.

I hope this helps and I hope you enjoy your weekend!

Hi Keith!

I'd start by running the following two uninstall processes:

Fix problems that programs cannot be installed or uninstalled

Uninstalling the Printer Software

Once it is uninstalled, I would suggest putting your system into clean boot mode within the Microsoft configuration.  You can do so by following this document: How to perform a clean boot in Windows.

Once the computer is in clean boot mode, I would suggest reinstalling the HP Printer Install Wizard for Windows.

Please let me know how it goes!

Hi folks,

I'd like to help you with the issue you have expressed experiencing with your Envy 120 printer. Do you have the printer connected directly to a wall outlet or is it in a surge protector or power bar? Even if you have been using a surge protector/power bar all this time and you feel it is not the cause, please connect it to a wall outlet just so we can eliminate the power source as the root cause.   Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector

In this document you will see, ISSUE: Problems or issues may arise when an HP LaserJet series printer is connected to an uninterruptible power supply (UPS), a power strip, or a surge protector

^ This is not limited to Laserjet printers.

Also, choose the appropriate link below to ensure the printer has the latest firmware update. This firmware update can improve printer performance and fix miscellaneous defects.

Is the Windows Version on My Computer 32-bit or 64-bit?

I hope this helps. Please let me know if you continue to see lines when you copy.

Hello and thank you for trying to help. The problem persists.

Yes, I am connected wirelessly via the home wireless network.

With Image Capture or from Printers and Scanners the message that comes out says "Please select area to scan". If I click on 'use document feeder' it says 'no document loaded' (and obviously I do load a doc).

Hey ,

Thanks again for getting back to me regarding this issue.

The Firmware Update is a package that must be downloaded to your computer. Depending on the internet browser you're using you'll either get the prompt to Run or Save the file. I'm guessing you're using either Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox as your internet browser. Those browsers require that you Save the download first. Once the download has been Saved you simply click on the download and allow it to Run. At this point the Firmware Update Utility will open. You can then select your HP Officejet and click 'Send' to send the latest Firmware to your printer. Once the Firmware Update has completed simply close the Firmware Update Utility.

Please let me know if this works for you. Best of luck! :smileyhappy:

Hello

Thanks for posting in the HP Support Forum.

I understand you're unable to scan multiple pages using your HP Photosmart 6525 e-All-in-One Printer.  I would like to assist you with this.

In order to provide the most relevant advice I need to know a little more about your setup.

  • Are you scanning to PC, Mac, Android, iOS, or Windows phone?
  • What operating system? What version?

Please reply at your leisure and I'll be happy to help.

Thank you,

Welcome to the HP Community Forum.

The scan window is indeed tiny; it is not a good tool for delicate work.

Here is what I have used:

Easy workaround - while it does require extra steps, it uses software already on your Operating System:

  • Scan in the Photo / Image to your computer > save as an Image (.jpg) file
  • Open image in Paint (you want the original "Paint" and not fresh paint)

Windows key> type anywhere paint > click to open Paint

  • If the Image is quite large, slide the scale (down in lower right corner) to shrink the image so you can manage the size of the image on your screen
  • Crop the Image as needed.  If you make a mistake, click the little Undo half arrow.
  • Save the new cropped Image under a new name, if desired
  • Print the Image

Re: can't connect to scanner

Hello ,

Welcome to the HP Support Forums!

I understand that you're experiencing issues when trying to scan from your HP LaserJet Pro MFP M127fn to your Windows 7 computer. I would like to assist you today with resolving this scanning issue. Because the printer is connected via a Network connection there are a few different variables that may cause scanning conflicts. There may be a firewall blocking the two-way communication between your printer and your computer. Or, there may be a driver, or software conflict occuring. Therefore, to start troubleshooting I am going to have you run the HP Print and Scan Doctor Tool to isolate this issue and resolve this issue.

To start, can I please have you click here to download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor Tool. Once the Tool has downloaded please run the Tool to 'fix scanning' issues. The HP Print and Scan Doctor Tool will run on your computer and identify any software, driver, or connection conflicts. Should any conflicts be found than the HP Print and Scan Doctor Tool will attempt to resolve those conflicts for you. Once the Tool has completed please test scanning again to confirm if the issue has been resolved.

Please respond to this post with the result of your troubleshooting. Should the issue persist, can you please elaborate on exactly what occurs when you try to scan (scan fails to open, a scan error pops up, etc) so I can provide additional steps to resolve this issue. I look forward to hearing from you! :smileyhappy:
